The Prime Minister has mandated that provincial wheat purchases be completed by June 1

On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif voiced his unhappiness with the provinces’ failure to get wheat and emphasised the significance of finishing the process by June 1.

He requested that an immediate committee be formed by the Minister of Food Security and Research to guarantee the equal distribution of imported wheat among the provinces.

The prime minister emphasised that the people could not be forced to suffer and that the federal government would supply flour at a lesser rate.
