Shahana, an Indian actress and model, was discovered dead at her home in Kerala lately.
The police have charged Shahana’s husband, Sajjad, and placed him into jail after the model’s family claimed he mistreated her.
A cousin of Shahana told the media that she had been the victim of domestic abuse and that her neighbours had observed it multiple times.
Earlier in the day, the Malayalam model-turned-actress celebrated her 22nd birthday.
Shahana began her career as an actor in advertising in Kerala, according to media sources, and she recently participated in a Tamil film.
The event is being investigated by police, who have not ruled out the potential of foul play.
According to a police official, it is still unclear whether this was a suicide attempt.
