Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a South Indian diva, responded to her haters with a meaningful message. The actress used to social media to deliver an important message to internet trolls who condemn women based on their clothing choices.
On Saturday, the Family Man 2 actress, who recently drew fire for her provocative wardrobe — a green floor-length gown with a plunging neckline at the red carpet of an award presentation in Mumbai – called out trolls for criticising women’s clothing choices on her Instagram Story.
“As a woman, I carry direct experience of what it means to be condemned,” she said in her piece. We criticise women based on their clothing, colour, education, social position, beauty, skin tone, and the list goes on.”
“Making fast judgments about others based only on the things they wear is quite literally the easiest thing one can do,” the Pushpa actress stated.
“Now that we’re in the year 2022 – can we finally stop evaluating a woman based on the hemlines and necklines she wears and instead focus on bettering ourselves?” she said. Evolution entails turning that judgement inside and practising it on oneself. It was never a good idea to project our values onto others. “Let us gently rebuild the way we measure and comprehend people,” her message said.
