ISLAMABAD/MUMBAI — Pakistan’s political establishment paid homage to India’s famous singer Lata Mangeshkar on Sunday.

As the late singer’s funeral rituals were concluded and the Indian government proclaimed a two-day mourning period in her honour, the Pakistani politician couldn’t help but pay respect to the great of Indian subcontinental music, Lata Mangeshkar.

Many celebrities from all areas of life attended the late singer’s last rites ceremony, including Prime Minister India Narendra Modi, Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Aasha Bhoslay, Ranbir Kapoor, and many others.

Following the death of the adored musician, numerous Pakistani leaders, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shehbaz Sharif, Bilalwal Bhutto, Fawad Chaudhry, and Usman Buzdar, paid tribute to the departed artist’s renowned services.

Prime Minister Imran remarked in a tweet that the late singer’s death is an irreparable loss for the Indian subcontinent. Lata is well-known around the world, and her songs are often heard.

Shehbaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), stated in a tweet that “people of my generation grew up hearing Lata’s song.” Her lovely voice affected many generations, and she will be remembered.

In expressing condolences on the death of Indian singing legend Lata Mangeshkar, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) stated that the dead singer’s voice has spread magic all over the world. She was the Indian subcontinent’s identity. Her passing has likely left many people in mourning.

Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, stated that those who know and understand Urdu all over the world comprehend the depth of the loss caused by Lata Mangeshkar’s passing. Lata’s voice will be remembered for its charm.
