Sonia Shamroz, the only Muslim woman to receive the International Association of Women Police Award, has once again made history.
Her most recent success is her appointment as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Establishment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, making her the first woman to occupy this coveted position.

Sonia Shamroz, from Abbottabad district, has vast experience in a variety of jobs, including serving as DPO in Chitral and Battagram. Since entering the police force in 2013, she has held crucial positions as ASP and DPO in several areas.

Reflecting on her groundbreaking achievement, Sonia Shamroz underscored the increasing responsibilities entrusted to female officers within the province. She highlighted the ongoing strides towards gender equality within the police force, emphasizing the importance of merit-based appointments over personal recommendations.
