At the Turkish embassy in the United States, an anonymous donor from Pakistan made a magnificent $30 million contribution to the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif rushed to Twitter to express his gratitude for the kind act of generosity, describing it as “beautiful” and a sign of humanity’s victory over adversity.
Separately, as a demonstration of solidarity, PM Shehbaz called Syria’s PM Hussain Arnous to offer his deepest sympathies for the loss of lives and property.
In addition, he said that Pakistan has already delivered its first shipment of humanitarian help and that other relief supplies would come through air and land channels.
At the request of the Turkish government, nearly 200 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including tents, were supplied to Turkey to help the afflicted populace. The action is intended to provide relief to the hundreds of thousands of individuals devastated by the earthquake and the severe winter weather.
In addition, physicians, paramedics, and rescue personnel from the Pakistan Army, NDMA, and Rescue 1122 have been sent to the earthquake-affected nations to assist with rescue and relief operations.
