The former CEO of Bank Alfalah Securities and husband of well-known model and actress Nadia Hussain, Atif Mohammad Khan, has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling 540 million rupees.
After a complaint from the company’s board of directors initiated an inquiry, the Federal inquiry Agency (FIA) confirmed his imprisonment.
Police claim that Atif Khan, the husband of model Nadia Hussain, unlawfully obtained 654 million rupees through a third party and misused 80 million rupees of business funds for personal use. He then paid back the money with hefty interest from company funds.
Additionally, the FIA accused Imtiaz Ahmed and former Chief Financial Officer Faisal Sheikh of aiding the scam. Additional investigations are being conducted, authorities added.
