ISLAMABAD — Senator Ejaz Chaudhry has been subject to production orders from Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani.

The senator has been incarcerated at Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore for more than 18 months. He was supposed to be presented before the Senate in March of last year, but he was unable to make it.

The production order states that Senate Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz requested Chaudhry’s production.

The order said that Senator Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry’s presence during the 345th session of the Senate of Pakistan was deemed necessary by the Honorable Chairman of the Senate.

“With great pleasure, the Honorable Chairman of the Senate has invited Senator Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry to attend the aforementioned session at Parliament House.”

A Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) finally convicted Chaudhry and 21 other PTI officials in November in connection with the May 9, 2023, nationwide riots.
