Pakistan will soon get ultra-fast gigabit fibre internet in eleven cities.
This paper shows the budget for the Public Sector Development Project (PDSP) for the fiscal year 2022-2024. It contains an overview of current existing projects, upcoming initiatives, and other information from the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.
It shows a new design for a project that would extend Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) Fibre to the Home (FTTH) services to eleven cities under the Information Technology and Telecom Division.
As previously stated, extremely speed gigabit internet is shortly to be available in more places. The project’s approval status remains “under process,” so it will most likely be some time before it sees the light of day.
The government has set a budget of Rs. 800 million for this project, which would receive no external help. An extra Rs. 50 million will be given to this project between 2023 and 2024.
