The Canadian government has extended the deadline for visitors who have employment offers to apply for a work permit without leaving the country.
Individuals who have had a work permit in the previous year and are applying under this new policy may also seek to begin working for their new company sooner.
The policy, which was slated to expire on February 28, 2022, will now be extended until February 28, 2025.
This extension will enable Canadian businesses to handle their labour shortfall.
Prior to this legislation, visit visa holders were required to depart Canada after receiving a job offer in order to get a work permit.
To be qualified for this plan, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:
Before applying, you must have a valid visiting status in Canada.
Get a job offer that has been authorised by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or a job offer that is excluded from the LMIA.
On or before the above-mentioned date, submit an application for an employer-specific work permit.
Complete all other prerequisites.
