Finland took a step toward fast-track NATO membership on Thursday, sparking a stern warning from the Kremlin as the Ukraine crisis restricted supply of Russian gas to Europe and the number of people fleeing the country neared six million.
Following Russia’s invasion of its neighbour in February, Finland’s lawmakers stated their nation needed to seek to join NATO “quickly.”
